Digital opportunities for diabetes: the paradigm change for doctors
The medical convention organized by Prof. Mariano Agrusta, a pioneer doctor in the field of technological innovation related to diabetes, was held in Naples from May 16th to 18th.
This year topic, “Digitalization and Diabetes of adults”, focused exclusively on the opportunities that digital technologies could enable for what concerns diabetes treatment support within adults, touching themes like patient information journey, digital therapeutics, gamification and privacy issues.
Our CEO Andrea Boaretto gave the opening speech, talking to doctors about the need to have paradigm change in the medical profession when curing chronical diseases as diabetes, the need to evolve from the “cure approach” to “care approach”, and about the role that digital technologies can enable in the new paradigm. On day two, he gave a talk about the role of gamification for health and diabetes and on the last day he took part in the final panel moderated by UnoMattina journalist Franco Di Mare with the challenges and suggestions of sociologist Domenico De Masi.
